As of July 2025, we’ve recently evolved, with a bold new format and a brand new home at ALPHABET.
Rising Stars is a curated artist showcase platform designed to give emerging talent a powerful launchpad.
This isn’t an open mic, this is not just any gig, it’s a professional live event with purpose, energy, and follow-through in an exceptional venue.
Each artist we feature benefits from high-quality video and audio recordings of their performance, perfect for marketing, social media, and industry outreach. We also provide extensive promotion across Brighton and surrounding towns, helping artists grow their audience locally and to amplify their visibility where it counts.

Rising Stars Artist Showcase runs approximately every 2 - 3 months, with carefully curated lineups that highlight super talented breakout bands and at times will open with an intimate acoustic / vocal set spotlighting the freshest new talent, only as we discover it, otherwise its all about bands.

With her 2025 debut releases entitled 'Not Your Ex Yet' and 'I'd Rather Miss You', Matilda Grace fuses pop rock genre with some elements of punk in her vocals and is greatly inspired by iconic artists such as Lily Allen, Blondie, Olivia Rodrigo and The Killers. Voted #1 with "Not Your Ex yet..." after just 2 weeks in the Unsigned Top 10 Singles Chart! 🚀. Matilda’s strength lies in her commanding songwriting, which fuels her dynamic sound and anchors its intensity. She navigates emotional extremes with precision, delivering sharp verses and choruses that burn delightfully with intent laced with a bold rock edge. Her sound is for anyone caught in the uncertain space of modern relationships - raw, relatable, and unapologetically direct.

Joe Little blends folk and left field pop with a very rocky edge, his music refuses to sit neatly in one category. Recent single releases include 'Ordinary', 'Stars' and most recently 'Loving For The First Time' feat King Tear. With an experimental tone that pushes boundaries, his work has been praised as "astonishingly potent" by Clash Music and has earned a spot on BBC 6 Music’s playlist. Whether delivering intimate acoustic moments or unleashing powerful full band performances, he brings a rare energy and passion with a beautiful voice that captivates every time.

Lewis is an artist stepping out on his own after time spent in an alt-rock band. His roots lie in the raw power of 90s grunge – but his sound has evolved into something far more introspective and textured. Now drawing inspiration from the likes of Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, Lewis crafts songs that balance delicate acoustic arrangements with emotionally charged lyricism. Honest, melodic and deeply human – it’s an exciting first step from a songwriter in artistic transition and we welcome Lewis and his new band to the stage.

Email showcase@westpierrecordings.com with a link(s) to your videos as well as artist socials and of course some words telling us about yourself, your creative journey so far as well as your future goals as an artist and how we can help you.
We must emphasise that these are exclusive events and we are booking in upcoming and established artists that are already making ripples and indeed waves in the scene locally or nationally and that are gigging / touring to support their current/future single release campaigns. We reserve the right to choose genres that suit the ethos of the event and the venue itself. The minimum set time is 30 mins of original music with a maximum of 45 minutes.
We also want to hear from bookers, artist managers and producers that would like to work with Rising Stars Artist Showcase to promote their related artists.
If you want to apply to perform at the Rising Stars Sessions, you will need to register as early as you can. If you have any questions, just reach out.

Bring yourselves, your kit, everything you would normally need to set up.
You can then connect to one of the best PA systems in Brighton with a dedicated sound engineer.
Bands will need to be available to arrive at 4pm due to sound checks. Easy unloading at the venue!
We will discuss tech specs and full procedure in advance. :-)
