Specialising in Popular / mainstream music in its various forms, we focus on supporting and developing talent, always putting the artist first.
We are currently sourcing and developing new artists to work with for 2026.

Based in Brighton, East Sussex, England, West Pier Recordings is an artist-first independent label.
From day one, the mission has been clear: to build a community where artists are respected, supported, and given the confidence to grow in their own way. The old playbook for record labels no longer applies. Today, there are no rules for how a label should be run. At West Pier Recordings, we are embracing a new approach; one that is built on community, trust, and people-first values.
Collaboration is our foundation. We work closely with artists to ensure every release matches their creative and business goals. Whether it’s through mentorship, strategy, or hands-on support, we’re in it together to make the magic happen. It’s not just about the music; it’s about the artists and their ability to shape the future of music and how we can make that happen together.
The label is driven by a dedicated team. Julian Ankersmit leads the vision and direction of the company, supported by Macaulay Robertson as part of the core team specialising in artist relations, videography and digital marketing. We are also proud to have onboard Kieron Pepper, who is our exclusive A&R and artist development advisor.
Kieron is best known as the live drummer for The Prodigy, a member of Sleeper, and currently the Director of Artist Development at WaterBear College in Brighton and will work directly with every artist we take on, bringing invaluable experience, mentorship, and developmental expertise to their journey.
After an early setback with a business partner who was not aligned with our values and vision, Julian took full control of the label in 2025 and has been restructuring ready for 2026. West Pier Recordings is going full throttle - working only with like-minded individuals who respect artists and deliver on their promises. We believe in being completely transparent (not just saying the word), offering fair deals, and being there for artists not just financially but also emotionally, as true partners on their creative journey.
West Pier Recordings is about community, respect, and trust. We are here to discover, develop, and celebrate exceptional talent while helping high calibre artists carve out sustainable careers in music.
