West Pier Recordings is an independent Brighton based record label, we work with top-tier third-party providers alongside our in-house expertise to deliver everything you need for success. Every piece of the puzzle fits seamlessly, working in harmony along a carefully planned timeline. We don't deliver broken promises because we only take on what we can deliver!
Due to the nature of the music industry and the costs involved that ultimately affect YOU the artist as well as West Pier Recordings, we have a highly selective approach. We will be working with a maximum of two to three artists per year, ensuring that all our focus, funding, and energy are dedicated to you, rather than spreading our resources thinly across a large roster. If you work with West Pier Recordings, you’ll be teaming up directly with Julian, our Label Manager, to build a trusting and effective partnership that will give you the confidence that you have found the right home.
Working with the right independent record label offers real advantages: genuine collaboration, one-on-one support, funding opportunities, and access to strategic industry connections that can take your music further than self-releasing with the incorrect budget to market your music effectively.
It takes two to tango. We bring the backing, the strategy and the firepower; but we’re not here to carry dead weight. The artist has to bring it too. Extreme talent, drive, and the grit to go the distance. This game’s not for the faint-hearted. But when both sides show up and do what they say they will do? ... That’s when the real magic happens.

We commit to investing in you and developing your career, and in return, we seek long-term partnerships that lead to shared success. Short-term deals often fail to provide the time needed to truly develop an artist and build a sustainable career. That’s why our approach focuses on mid-to-long-term arrangements. These not only allow us to support your growth financially, but also provides the time needed for the label to work effectively with and alongside the artist to reach the goals set.
For management / touring support, we will ensure every aspect of your
career is handled professionally from the outset. Once your career reaches a certain level you will access our industry specialist, George, who has extensive artist / international tour manager experience and has worked across the UK, Europe and USA on a long term basis with The Maccabees, Mumford and Sons and currently Elmiene.
As your release campaigns and career progresses and momentum is achieved, we may, by mutual agreement with yourself and if the deal is right for you the artist and us the label, provide additional support to further amplify its reach through an uptick deal. This partnership could enable your music to benefit from the extensive global marketing resources of a major label, maximising its potential impact.
Our agreements are flexible and negotiable and can be tailored to suit the direction we mutually decide upon.
Typically, we offer 50/50 recording deals, not 95/5, not 80/20 and not 70/30, with the understanding that artist development is crucial in today’s music industry. If we offer additional services such as management, we would genuinely look to marginally increase that percentage.
We recoup the agreed costs jointly, we don't recoup just from your percentage, it's a joint effort.
For select artists and for those that want it, we can offer 360 deals - providing full-scale support across every aspect of your career.
The more we invest (funding and time) in your success, the higher our percentage may be, but we are always fair, transparent, and never exploitative.
Respect is the foundation of everything we do.
The biggest advantage of a 360 deal is financial efficiency - you won’t need to pay separate percentages to a manager, tour manager,
booking agent, or other industry professionals. Instead, everything is handled under one structure, allowing you to
focus on what truly matters: your music, your development, your career growth, and your earning potential.
